Conventional substrate preparation methods, used prior to the application of protective coatings, do not remove microscopic contaminants. This is the primary cause of coating failures on otherwise properly applied coatings. Microscopic contaminants (including water-soluble and non-water-soluble varieties) exhibit multiple biochemical phenomena that, when in proximity to one another, compound to create dynamically corrosive substrate environments. Since microscopic contaminants are not visible without magnification and field test methods are limited both in scope and capability, microscopic contaminants are largely undetected prior to coating application. Corrosion Prevention Technologies' CorrX removes both water-soluble and non-water-soluble contaminants, effectively destroying the corrosion-mechanism or the true cause of corrosion-induced coating failure. Additionally, Corrosion Prevention Technologies' CorrX breaks the ionic bond between non-water soluble and water-soluble contaminants (a.k.a. soluble salts), leaving the metal clean at a molecular level and resulting in a uniform receptive substrate for coatings.
